Reflecting on 2025, it’s been great!

As we reach the end of 2025, the Mid-Wales Vintage Machinery Club would like to take a moment to reflect on another full and rewarding year for the club and its supporters.

Throughout the year, members enjoyed a varied programme of events that celebrated vintage machinery, rural skills, and local heritage. Spring began with well-supported tractor runs, including Mervin, Colin and Hywel’s Tractor Run and the Gwyn James Tractor Run, both of which brought members and friends together on the roads of Mid-Wales for enjoyable days out in support of good causes. During the summer months, visits included outings to Eira and Ifor Humphreys’ farm to learn about their work with green burials and Wagyu beef, a tractor run through Hafren Forest, and a visit to Ty Coch Water Mill, all of which proved popular and informative.

The highlight of the year was, as ever, the Caersws Vintage Rally, held in May. Despite challenging weather, the rally attracted strong attendance and showcased an impressive range of vintage machinery, vehicles, and attractions. The continued commitment of exhibitors, volunteers, traders, and visitors ensured another successful event and reinforced the rally’s importance within the local community.

Supporting local charities remains central to the club’s purpose. During 2025, £7500 of funds were raised in aid of Lingen Davies, The Game Change Project, and Dementia Matters in Powys. Each of these organisations carries out vital work locally, and all funds raised were donated without restriction, allowing the charities to direct the support where it was most needed. The generosity shown by members, supporters, and rally visitors once again made a tangible difference to people across the region.

As a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers, everything the Mid-Wales Vintage Machinery Club achieves is driven by enthusiasm, goodwill, and a shared passion for preserving and enjoying vintage machinery. The successes of 2025 reflect the dedication of those who give their time behind the scenes, as well as the continued support of the wider public.

Looking ahead, plans are already underway for 2026, including preparations for the next Caersws Vintage Rally, which will mark a significant milestone in the event’s history. We look forward to building on recent successes and welcoming both familiar faces and new visitors in the year ahead.

On behalf of the committee, we would like to thank everyone who has supported the club during 2025. Whether you are a long-standing member, a volunteer, an exhibitor, or someone who joined us for the first time this year, your support is sincerely appreciated.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year, and we look forward to seeing you again in 2026.
