Lingen Davies Cancer Fund is committed to supporting high quality cancer services for the people of Shropshire, Telford and Mid Wales. Started in 1979 by Bernard Lingen, then Mayor of Shrewsbury, and local accountant Frank Davies, the charity’s first appeal raised £1.25million to provide a radiotherapy department at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
At the Social evening on Wednesday 12th December the Club presented two cheques. One for £3000 to the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund and the other for £1200 to Caersws Village Club. Lingen Davies is well know in the area for supporting those with Cancer and Caersws Village Club, which is staffed by volunteers, provides a venue for many local groups and Clubs. Members were very happy that money raised during the year from various activities was being put back into the local community.
