Phil Mills is a highly respected Welsh rally co-driver, best known for his long and successful partnership with Petter Solberg. Born in Wales, Mills built his reputation through meticulous pace-note preparation, calm delivery, and an exceptional ability to perform under pressure.

He reached the pinnacle of the sport in 2003, when he and Solberg won the World Rally Championship, driving for the Subaru World Rally Team. This achievement made them one of the most recognisable driver–co-driver pairings of their era. Following Subaru’s withdrawal from the WRC, Mills continued to compete at the highest level with Solberg’s own team, as well as with major manufacturers including Ford and Citroën.

Widely regarded as one of the finest co-drivers in modern rallying, Phil Mills is admired not just for his results, but for the professionalism, precision, and teamwork that define the role of a top-level co-driver.
